What is a World TeamTennis Corporate League?
After work on summer evenings, employees in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area trade their briefcases for tennis racquets and join co-workers on the courts. For the 2009 season, twenty-three co-ed teams competed weekly in four divisions (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5).

Companies fielding WTT teams in 2009 included Boston Scientific, Ernst & Young, General Dynamics, General Mills, Honeywell, Land O’Lakes, Medtronic, PTC, RBC, Seagate, Target, Thomson Reuters, and USTA Northern.

Corporate League Rules:
  • At least 50% of your team has to be employees.
  • Players must compete in at least 2 matches to be eligible to advance with their team.
  • A team must have at least 2 employees present to play at each match.
  • Divisions are based on the team average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women.
  • Players must be 18 or over to play in the league.

Local League Rules:
The WTT Twin Cities league has adopted local rules, including rules which replace the national rules about "Determining Team Rating." To see these rules, go to the WTT Twin Cities web site at www.wtttwincities.com/local_rules.htm

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

Example:
Joe - 4.5 Mary - 3.5
Tom - 4.5 Jill - 3.5
Bill - 4.0 Gail - 3.5
Jim - 3.5 Joan - 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.
