Philadelphia Area Corporate
2012 Philadelphia Area Fall Corporate

What is a World TeamTennis Corporate League?
The league is corporate co-ed tennis promoting goodwill among corporations and competitive fun for area tennis players. Some teams are not corporations, but a group of friends. The weekly matches consist of 6 sets (6 game pro-set) of TeamTennis doubles (1 set of men's and women's doubles, 1 set of men's and women's singles, and 2 sets of mixed doubles).

What is a WTT team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum (10 players maximum). This allows for periods of rest and missing matches. Total games won from all sets determine the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match.

Corporate League Rules:
  • At least 50% of your team has to be employees.
  • Players must compete in at least 2 matches to be eligible to advance with their team.
  • A team must have at least 2 employees present to play at each match.
  • Divisions are based on the team average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women.
  • Players must be 18 or over to play in the league.

Local League Rules:
Courts are reserved from 8:30-10pm. We can often get on earlier. Warm up from 8:30-8:40. Begin matches at 8:40. Matches should end close to 10pm, with extra time for tie-breakers.

Captain's Responsibilities:
1. To obtain Team Players.
2. To have team players register online.
3. To pay the team fee.
4. To record the match results online.
5. To email the team players about the upcoming match and verify who is coming to the match.
6. To obtain subs, if needed.
7. To determine the lineup for the match.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

Example:
Joe - 4.5 Mary - 3.5
Tom - 4.5 Jill - 3.5
Bill - 4.0 Gail - 3.5
Jim - 3.5 Joan - 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.
