Winning teams of any official World TeamTennis (WTT) local league division are eligible to attend one National Qualifier within 12 months from the date their local league ends. If the winning team is unable to compete in any National Qualifier within the 12 months, the second place team will become eligible to attend within that same 12 month timeframe.
The following divisions will be offered at the 2009 National Qualifiers - 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 50+ Senior 3.5/under and 50+ Senior 4.0/under. All teams will be competing to advance to the Nationals in November. The Open division will only be offered at the Las Vegas National Qualifier and will be considered their Nationals. This year we will also be offering a 60+ Senior 3.5/under division and also a 60+ Senior 4.0/under division at the National Qualifiers in Bradenton, Kansas City, Irvine and Lancaster. The National Qualifier winners of the 60+ divisions will advance to the Nationals in Indian Wells.
Teams attending a National Qualifier must meet the following criteria:
-
All players must have an NTRP rating. Ratings from the start of the local league will be used. If a player has not played in a USTA league to generate a rating, a self-rating will be accepted. Additional NTRP rating rules and information can be found here.
-
The average NTRP rating of the top two (2) men and top two (2) women will determine the team's level of competition.
- All players must be registered WTT members and must be at least 18 years old prior to the start of the National Qualifier. All players participating in the Senior division must be at least 50 years old within the calendar year.
-
All teams must have qualified from a local league except for teams entering the Open or Senior divisions who qualify to attend by either winning their local league or tournament (if one is available) or by assembling a team if a local league or tournament is not available.
-
Only those players registered on the originial local league roster are eligible to play. All players must have played at least two (2) local matches for their qualifying team. A team must have played at least three (3) matches.
-
A maximum of 10 rostered players per team may participate.
-
Each team attending will be allowed to add one (1) alternate player to their National Qualifier roster as long as he/she is registered and played in at least two matches in the local league the team qualified from.
