Life Time Athletic
2016 Life Time December Tournament

What is World TeamTennis?
WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets. (One set each of mens and womens doubles followed by mens and womens singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles.) Total games won from all sets determine the winner. Substitution and coaching are allowed during the match.

What is a WTT team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum, 10 players maximum. However, we encourage each team to field a minimum of 6 players (3 men, 3 women). This allows for periods of rest and will prevent teams from defaulting due to unforeseen injuries or fatigue. Subs are still required to register via the WTT website and are charged registration fee as well as per match fee.

Who can play?
Adults (18 & over) may sign up as a team or as an individual. Registration is open to all participants as long as they meet the pre-set requirements of a WTT team as outlined in the rules of WTT and described on this web page. A player does NOT have to be a member of any host facility in order to play in this tournament. For complete WTT rules and guidelines, go to www.wtt.com.

When do leagues start?
The WTT Tournament will take place on Friday, June 17 - Sunday, June 19, 2016. Consideration will be given for Friday night play Sunday in order to better accommodate participants and those who would need to travel. Go to www.wtt.com for complete rules and guidelines. Every player must be registered via the WTT website. Final schedule will be based on the numbers of teams within each division. Although not guaranteed, Life Time will make every attempt to schedule at least 3 matches per division for this weekend of play, which will enable the winner in a division to enter a National Qualifier.

Sign-Up Deadline: December 11th, 2016
Captains and team members must be registered by December 11th, 2016. Subs can be added after deadline date but must be registered in the WTT.com site and by time of their first tournament match.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
The levels of play being offered are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

(A 2.4 division will be offered but no advancement opportunities are currently available for National Qualifiers at the 2.5 level.)

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.
