VTA NOVA (SPRING)
2017 VTA NOVA Spring League

What is World TeamTennis?
WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets. One set each of men's and women's doubles followed by men's and women's singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles. Total games won from all sets determines the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match. Click here to view WTT Rules

What is a WTT team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum. Only 10 players on a team can advance to a National Qualifier, and each player must have played in two matches of that particular season. Subs may not advance if they have played two matches but have not paid their fees.

Who can play?
Adults (18 & over) may register.

When do leagues start?
The league will begin in late March/early April 2017.
For the 3.5 teams, there will 5 matches and then playoffs. Each team will play 8 matches total.
For the 4.0 teams, there will be six matches and then playoffs. Each team will play 8 matches total.

Sign-Up Deadline: Teams due 3/24/2017
No refunds and/or transfer of payment to another person after the season starts. Players may register after this date but prior to participating in a match.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
The levels of play being offered are 3.5, 4.0, & 4.5. A minimum of 4 teams is required per division except for 4.5. There may be 3 teams for that division.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.
