Woburn, MA - Cusolito
2017 Woburn Fall League

What is World TeamTennis?
WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets. One set each of men’s and women’s doubles followed by men’s and women’s singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles.

What is a WTT team?
A team must have at least two men and two women, up to a 10-player maximum. This allows you the flexibility to adjust your roster size according to the number of weeks that your teammates wish to commit to. We also provide a list of over 90 approved substitutes for team back-ups. No age restrictions as long as you have at least 2 adult men and 2 adult women. Juniors under 18 can not play in the regionals due to liability requirements.

Who can play?
We have a broad range of players in the league, ranging from approximalty a 3.0 - 4.5 (USTA ratings not required), with teams arranged into four levels of play.

When do leagues start?
Season 1 starts Sept. 10, 2016

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
There are four divisions: Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced. NTRP ratings are helpful, but not required. To qualify for the Advanced flight, we suggest that you have the skills of a 4.0-4.5 NTRP player.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.

Where do we play?
All Matches are played at the Woburn Racquet Club, Saturdays from either 4:30-6:15 or 6:15-8:00. Each team has a fairly even combination of the 4:30 and 6:15 matches.

Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
You could become the captain and form a team. Or, if you don’t have a team but wish to play, we can try to find an existing team for you in any given season. We will make the effort but can’t guarantee that you will be placed. We can place you on our substitute list, if we receive your request by the second week of the season.

Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your WTT Member Benefits (WTT Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).

What is the cost?
The league fee is $720 per team, which covers all expenses for the ten -match season and two rounds of playoffs. This includes all court fees, balls, three post-match food parties and an optional discounted membership to the Woburn Racquet Club. (Membership to the Woburn Racquet Club is not required to play in the World Team Tennis League). This translates into $18 per person for each match.
