Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center
2019 Raleigh Summer League

What is World TeamTennis?
World Team Tennis is a recreational, social league with a unique, co-ed format. The league is divided into NTRP levels.

What is a WTT team?
Teams consists of a minimum of 2 men and 2 women. Locally, teams can have an unlimited player roster (only 10 players can go to a National Qualifier).

The format features co-ed teams competing in six sets: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and two mixed doubles. This unique format includes no-ad scoring, substitutions, super-tiebreakers and coaching. Total games won from all sets determines the winner.

Who can play?
Players must be at least 18 years of age to participate in the league.

WTT is not a USTA League
Players are not required to have a USTA rating.
Players who don't have a USTA rating can self-rate.
Players with a USTA rating may play at or above their level.

When do leagues start?
Play begins the week of May 6, 2019.

Matches will be played at 7pm (warm-up 6:45pm) on city parks courts and club/subdivision courts.

Sign-Up Deadline: Wednesday, April 17
April 17 - Team Registration and $75 Team Fee Due

April 22 - Online rosters with at least two men and two women are due.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
2.5 - Tuesday, 7 PM
3.0 - Tuesday, 7 PM
3.5 - Monday, 7 PM
4.0 & below Wednesday 7 PM
4.5 & below Thursday, 7 PM
Senior 50+ 3.5 Wednesday, 7 PM
Senior 50+ 4.0 Thursday, 7 PM

Our local league rules require you to play at or above your current NTRP rating but not below. (E.g. A 3.5 player may play at the 4.0 level but not at the 3.0 level).

Our local league does NOT allow "average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women" as mentioned below.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.

Where do we play?
You and your team will determine your home courts; subdivision, club or public courts may be used.
Please gain permission to use your home courts prior to registering as a team.

Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
Individuals without a team should email the league coordinator, Cheri Kohan at Cheri.Kohan@raleighnc.gov

Teams needing additional players to fill their rosters can email the league coordinator for a list of players looking for a team.

Note to substitute players:
You must be on the online team roster prior to playing a match.

Why register via the Internet?
