Northwest Georgia World TeamTennis
2019 NW Georgia WTT Summer League

What is World TeamTennis?
WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 5 no-ad sets. One set each of men's and women's doubles followed by men's and women's singles, ending with 1 set of mixed doubles. Total games won from all sets determines the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match. Click here to view WTT Rules
What is a WTT team?
A team must have three men and three women, as a minimum. (10 players maximum). This allows for periods of rest and missing matches. We also provide a list of approved substitutes for team back-ups.
Who can play?
Adults (18 & over) may sign up as a team or as an individual.
The North West Georgia WTT League will be hosting 3 separate NTRP Levels see below.

NOTE: Team Practices will be available at the Rome Tennis Center (WTT strategy, team strategy, doubles strategy, and more.)

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
The levels of play being offered are:

4.0+ Division
3.0+ Division
Corporate Division (some experience)

NOTE: See below to determine team rating.
Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0
The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.
This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.
Where do we play?
Matches will be played at the following locations:
Rome Tennis Center
100 Match Point Way
Rome, GA 30165
Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
You can register as an individual (we will make every effort to find an existing team for you to join in any given season), as part of a partial team ( we will assign other players to complete your team), or a full team. If you cannot commit to the entire season, we will place you on a substitute list. You will be called by myself or a team captain in the event they need a replacement player. You can register at and find "Programs/Events".
Note to substitute players:
Substitutes do not have to pay for the league at this time. You must register, however, and your playing is subject to the decision/judgment of the League Director who will independently assess your NTRP rating.
Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your WTT Member Benefits (WTT Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).
What is the cost?
League fees are $15.00 per person - includes WTT yearly membership fee.

Captain's fees will be waived if they create their own team of 6 or more players. The captain will need to contact the League Director, Becky Opoien, to specify which players are on their team.

You can register at and find "Programs/Events".
