Mile High World TeamTennis (SUMMER)
2019 Mile High WTT Summer Season

What is World TeamTennis?
WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets played on two courts. One set each of men's and women's doubles followed by men's and women's singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles. Total games won from all sets determines the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match, and lets are played. Click here to view WTT Rules

What is a WTT team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum. (10 players maximum). Recommended team size is 6 - 8 players; this allows for periods of rest and missed matches. The level of play is determined by the NTRP average of the top four players (two men, two women).

Who can play?
Adults (18 & over) may sign up. To be a "sub" for another player, you must be signed up as a team member. If teams do not have enough players for a single match, we will try to find replacement players for that match. Unfortunately, the sets the "replacements" play in will not count for the team in need. Those sets will be counted as 6-0 for the team with existing players on their squad. A "replacement" player may join the team in need if a spot is open and their level does not bump the team in need's level above their current division's level. Players must play in two matches to be counted in the event of earning a spot to National Qualifier's.

When do leagues start?
The 2019 summer league starts July 12th and ends August 30th, beginning at 6:15 pm. Levels offered are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5. There is a captain's meeting at 5:30pm on Friday July 12th for captains and/or co-captains before the first season match begins. Please be on time. If you are not familiar with the WTT format, there is important information that will be shared (you do not have to be a captain to sit in and listen to the rules). A typical match lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. Matches start on time!

Sign-Up Deadline: Wednesday, July 10th 2019
All money and paperwork are due by this date. No refunds after the season begins. Players may transfer payment to another person after the season begins. Players must play in two matches to be counted in the event of earning a spot to National Qualifier's.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
The levels of play being offered are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5. A minimum of 4 teams in a division is required for the winning team to be eligible for nationwide WTT Qualifiers.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.

Where do we play?
Matches will be played at:
Colorado Athletic Club - Inverness
374 Inverness Pkwy
Englewood, CO 80112

Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU PUT YOUR TEAM TOGETHER AND JOIN AS A TEAM. Priority will be given to complete teams over individual sign-ups. However, you can register as an individual (we will make every effort to find an existing team for you to join in any given division), or as part of a partial team (we will assign other players to complete your team). If you are registering as an individual, your team name will be "Extras" in your division.

Note to substitute players:
Individuals who are waiting as "Extras" do not have to pay for the season at this time. You must register, however, and your playing is subject to the decision/judgment of the League Director who will independently assess your NTRP rating. If you are put on a team, your payment must be received prior to the first WTT match you would play. Individual payments will be the same as everyone else.

Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your WTT Member Benefits (WTT Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).

What is the cost?
The season fee is $40 for members, $60 for non-members. If paying by credit card, please call Anthony Venable at 720.895.0919. All checks must be made out to: Colorado Athletic Club - Inverness; please note: WTT 2019 Season.

League winners qualify for a National Qualifier?
Winning teams advance to the WTT National Qualifiers. Your team is eligible to participate in a NQ for up to one year from the end date of your league. For every four (4) teams in any official World TeamTennis (WTT) local league division, one (1) team will be eligible to participate in a NQ. Click here for more details.
