Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center - Richards
2021 Calabasas WTT Festival

What is World TeamTennis?
the 2021 Calabasas WTT League is Friday evening, July 9th, Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th. We play the whole league in one weekend. WTT is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of six no-ad sets. One set each of men's and women's doubles followed by men's and women's singles, ending with two sets of mixed doubles. Let serves are in play and mid-set substitutions are allowed. The team that wins the most cumulative games wins!
What is a WTT team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum (10 players maximum). This allows for periods of rest and missing matches. Most teams find that 4 or 5 Men and 4 or 5 Women is a good number to roster for your season.
Who can play?
Adults (19 & over) may sign up as a team or as an individual. Seniors may form their own team where players must be at least 50 years old at the time of league play. There is also a 60 & over division, however, we would need at least three teams at that age group to have qualifying League play. USTA ratings apply. Self rated players are subject to the judgement of the league coordinator, current USTA rating rules shall apply.
When do leagues start?
July 9th, 10th, 11th, 2021. The Calabasas World Team Tennis Festival is a one weekend league with singles & doubles played in the "short set" format of the first to 4 games, no-ad scoring. Mixed Doubles will be the the first to 6 games, with a 9 point tiebreak at 5 all. If any of our divisions have more than 4 teams, we may need to start play in those divisions on Friday evening, July 9th, check in at 6:30 PM. Matches will start on Saturday, July 11th, not before 10:30 AM. Saturday matches could start as late as 6:00 PM. League play should conclude on Sunday, July 11th. Sunday matches could play as late as 6:30 PM. Some teams may not have to play on Sunday.
Sign-Up Deadline: Tues, July 6th
We ask that team captains/teams submit their intention to field a team to the league director by Sunday, July 4th, so there is no delay in publishing the schedule. Individual players can register at any time before league play begins, however, a team must be submitted by the deadline.
What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
We will offer 4.5, 4.0, 3.5, 3.0. Senior divisions (50+) for 3.5, 4.0, & 4.5, Super Seniors (60+) 3.5 & 4.0, There must be at least three teams in the 60+ division to have league play.
Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0
The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.
This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.

Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
Most teams are formed with a core of several friends. It is best to register with a team, one that has been formed or by being invited onto a team. You can register as an individual (we will make every effort to find an existing team for you to join) or as part of a team of other individual registrants. We cannot guarantee placement on a team if you register as an individual without a team.
Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your WTT Member Benefits (WTT Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).
What is the cost?
The cost is $79.00 per player. The cost includes 1 lunch ticket for either Saturday or Sunday, other refreshments provided, balls, administration and awards.
